Life's A Blast

As you know, my time spent in Israel Palestine gave me a certain weak spot for this area of the world. Linda Forsell has been to this country several times between 2008-2010 and now she's compiled her images into a book. Check out the photos here. They're totally worth it.

Excuse The Dust

If you've visited the blog in the past 72 hours, you might know things have been looking a little funky around here. I've been messing around with some of the coding for another blog and was test-running it here. But things are all back to normal and blogging will resume!

Basket Weave

Finding these baskets basically made my night. Not only are they stunning and handmade, but they are preserving a cultural traditional and at the same time promoting economic and financial independency and stability.

However, sometimes it seems like there are a lot of shops like this out there. Organizations and people who claim to support families and individuals in Africa by taking their baskets and selling them abroad. While that does sound a bit idealistic and naive to me, I do like to do conscious shopping and support where I can. What are your thoughts on consumer shopping such as this?

Mela & Roam

Wouldn't we all love to do what Courtney's able to do? Travel to far away lands and bring back the goods? It makes me want to head back over to the Middle East (my place of choice) with a couple empty suitcases waiting to bring back treasures of colors, textures, and filled with stories.

This elephant is too cute to handle, and that chair would go perfect with a new desk!

Playing For Change: Mexico Lindo y Querido

I love when people pull on the common ties of humanity to link us all together. Music is one of those. Take a look at this video and you'll know what I mean.

On My Way Back Home

Living by a retired prison has it's perks. One of these is the stunning views it provides.

Oh Hey There...

Yes, my lack of updates have pretty absolutely appalling. But don't worry, I haven't given up my dream to travel and I've been thinking about it constantly lately. I recently moved into the city, and I've been busy exploring my neighborhood and the surrounding areas. In fact, here a few links to my personal blog with photos and quick snippets of what I've been up to lately!
The other week was restaurant week and just the other day I got drinks with friends. I tried my hand at gardening and then photographed this lovely couple. As you can see, it's been a pretty busy couple of weeks but I'm excited to do some more exploring and share the photos with you!

Mom

It's amazing to me, the love of a mother. I have a mother who has constantly and consistently been there for me even when I don't deserve her love. She's shown me the mercy and grace of God, and is always on my side. Thanks for always being just a phone call away. I hope you enjoy as we celebrate YOU today! Love you Mom!

The Kitty

Found this sweet little girl on the side of the road at Fairmont Park the other day. Thankfully she found a warm home with my friend Alex. Isn't she a beauty?

Philadelphia At Night

I was in the city last night with my friend Alex photographing the Kony 2012 "cover the night" campaign. These are a few "side" shots that resulted :D

Photo 1: Philadelphia Lovers
Photo 2: You'd think have a huge camera up to my face that I'm taking a photograph, but tourists will be tourists :D
Photo 3: Dapper young gentlemen walking the streets.
Photo 4: These guys were going through some kind of "team bonding" (their words) late at night at Rittenhouse Square. I'm pretty sure they didn't plan on the sprinklers :D

Colorado Baby!

It's not quite as exotic or far away as my other travels, but I still love travelling the United States and always take an opportunity to see more of my country, even though I so desperately want to leave it. But more on that later...

This time, our travels took us to Colorado. My parents are looking to buy some land, and this trip was to climb a few mountains, ride a few ATVs and generally get the feel about some places on the list of we could potentially live here and be very happy as long as we both shall live, amen list.
Yes, we did see a lot of trees and rivers, and yes I did fall slightly in love, but it definitely is good to be home back in the city of brotherly love. I'm not quite sure why it's good to be home, because instead of being surrounded by open space and cool air, I hear cars outside my window and humidity curling my hair, but nonetheless it's a blessing to be back in my own bed with a good night's sleep ahead of me.

And with that, goodnight!

Travelled: Colorado

Over the next few days I'll be sharing some photos from our trip out west! Colorado has always been a soft spot for my family and I'm so thrilled to be back once again surrounded by these massive mountains and clear blue skies. Get ready for lots of open spaces, quaint little towns, and twisted roads.
